Feinstein to kill solar projects in CA desert

December 22, 2009

…as predicted in Green Hell and as reported in today’s New York Times:

Senator Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation in Congress on Monday to protect a million acres of the Mojave Desert in California by scuttling some 13 big solar plants and wind farms planned for the region.

So much for “clean energy”…

Not surprising Feinstein would block any effort of energy independence on the part of California or the US. Every time she is up for election, she campaigns on protecting the environment, while she maneuvers behind the political background to dwart any effort to increase energy efficiency. She is also a war-profiteer, supporting her husband’s businesses in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Who ever really believed he enviro’s were for actually doing something with green energy? California should do whatever they want including no electricity and reversion to the Dark Ages. Just seal the borders so the idiocy doesn’t escape.

Bob, I’m afraid that cannot be done and I live where they are already arriving. Not so bad yet, because the rich flee first.

Trouble is, we also appear to be hosting the Venezuela evacuation. Again, the rich first.

But, after that, well California used to stop Okies and Texas Pandhandlers* at their borders during the Dust Bowl days and send them away. Probably won’t fly this time, eh?

*Yup, that’s where that word comes from.

But what was the over riding reason?

Were these projects going to use non union labor?
